Langley City Recreation, Culture & Community Services and Langley Senior Resources Society would like to invite YOU to join in the fun! A variety of FREE activities, workshops and events will be held all week long celebrating the "Young at Heart" 50yrs + 

There is something for everyone!

How to Participate:

1. Must be 50+yrs and ready to have fun!

SENIORS WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

Learn to Lawn Bowl
The Langley Lawn Bowling Club wants you!  Lawn bowling is a fun, social activity that almost everyone can do.  Qualified coaches at the Langley Lawn Bowling Club want to show you how fun and easy lawn bowling is.  Space is limited, advanced registration is required.

FVRL Playground Showcase
The library has more than great books!  Come and check out their innovative collection including Sphero Bolt, Cubetto robots, Puzzle cubes, telescopes, birdwatching backpacks and even bat packs!  Library staff will show you how to use it all and even how to sign it out to use at home.

Advance Planning - Financial Workshop
Joint bank accounts, Wills, Power of Attorney and Representation agreements.  What are they?  Do you need them?  Find out how to ensure your wishes will be respected when you are relying on someone else to make decisions for you after you die.

Dementia Friends Workshop
What is Dementia?  How can you recognize it?  How can you best communicate and support someone living with Dementia?  Join experts from the Alzheimers Society to better understand this disease and where you can get more information so you can better understand and support your loved one who may be living with Dementia.   Space is limited, please pre-register.

Laughter Yoga
Using improv games and silly laughter exercises, the aim is to find our laughter whether laughing at something funny or intentionally using laughter as an exercise.

ICBC Enhanced Road Assessment Presentation
Learn what to expect if you are called for a re-examination road test and how you can prepare.  Refresher on rules of the road and pedestrian safety.

Learn to Play Pickleball
Pickleball is taking over the world!  Learn how to play this fun, social sport is a relaxed non-competitive environment.  Certified coaches will teach you the basic rules, skills and strategies so that you can enjoy the game.  All equipment provided.  Space is limited, pre-registration is required.
