In accordance with section 464(3) of the Local Government Act, the City must not hold a Public Hearing for this application. This is due to the recent change to Provincial housing legislation, adopted by the Province of BC on November 30, 2023, that prohibits local governments from holding public hearings for rezoning applications for residential developments that are consistent with the local government’s Official Community Plan (OCP).
This rezoning application, proposing a 26-unit townhome development, is consistent with the Ground Oriented Residential land use designation in the City of Langley OCP.
The proposed bylaw, supporting documents, and drawings may be viewed from Friday, May 3, 2024 to Monday, May 13, 2024 online at the “Development Application Portal” (sorted by civic address) at www.langleycity.ca or in person at the Development Services department at City Hall, 20399 Douglas Crescent, Langley, Monday to Friday, 8:30AM - 4:30PM, excluding statutory holidays.
