Crime Prevention Task Group - RCMP Video Series, (CPTED) Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design

Council approved the following recommendations from the City's Crime Prevention Task Group:

  1. THAT Council direct staff to upload the RCMP CPTED Video Series to Langley City’s YouTube page, website, and social media.
  2. THAT Council direct staff to work with the RCMP, Greater Langley Chamber, and Downtown Langley Business Association to prepare a joint press release on the RCMP CPTED Video Series.

46 Avenue Flood Mitigation Grant Application

Council passed the following resolution:

  1. THAT City Council authorize staff to submit a grant application under the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream (CVRIS), sub-stream program, titled the “Adaptation, Resilience & Disaster Mitigation” (ARDM) for the 46 Avenue Flood Mitigation Project, and;
  2. That City Council support the project and finance the project cost of $486,000 until the costs can be recovered through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream (CVRIS) grant program

Langley's Downtown

Council passed the following resolution:

THAT a letter be sent to MP Tamara Jansen requesting a written explanation as to why she made the comment that Langley City is becoming a ghost town, and indicating that Council would be happy to meet with her in person if she so chooses.
