A free demo class that can be done while seated or standing using a chair for balance. This class is ideal for those wo cannot stand for long periods of time or for those who cannot comfortably get down to the floor. ICBC: Enhanced Road Assessment
Almost 5,000 drivers in BC take an ICBC re-examination road test every year. Chat with an ICBC Driver Examiner who will speak about what to expect if you are called for a re-examination road test and will answer questions about how to prepare. Life Drawing Workshop
Learn to capture the human form's essence through line and value in this collaborative art class with Langley Arts Council.
Key learning objectives:
- Learn how to simplify the human figure into basic shapes using strict observation and mark-making in life drawing and how to translate what you see onto paper.
- Practicing techniques for creating dynamic compositions and directing the view to what you want to focus on.
- Learn the fundamentals of life drawing with limited values using graphite, charcoal or any water media.
This special seniors week workshop will introduce the principals of expressive life drawing and a brief overview of the artistic philosophy guiding the class. Using a live model, participants will get a demonstration of basic techniques; including contour drawing, composition structure, and value study. Timed exercised will focus on simplifying the human figure into basic shapes and capturing its essential energy through quick gestural sketches.
