Schedule of Events

BC Youth Week is a provincial celebration of youth held annually during the first week of May. It is a week of fun filled interaction and a celebration intended to build a strong connection between youth and their communities. This event is intended to highlight the interests, accomplishments, and diversity of youth across the province.

All Langley City Youth Week events are free for youth 12-18yrs  with your Youth Week Activity Pass!

Wednesday, May 1

Youth Week Kick-off Party
Celebrate Youth Week with a fun game-filled party!  We will have the Nintendo Switch out along with board games, activities, pizza and snacks!  If you are feeling really energetic, drop in to the Timms Gymnasium for some friendly badminton play.

Thursday, May 2

Girls Social
For female identifying youth in grades 6-12.  Come on out for some and relaxing girl time!  There will be fun activities, crafts and of course food!  Enjoy great conversation and maybe make some new friends!  In partnership with Langley Youth Hub and Encompass Support Services Society.

After 3 Trivia
Youth in Grades 6 - 8 are invited down for an afternoon of Trivia and Treats!

Fitness Classes 14+yrs

Youth 14+yrs are invited to attend our vast array of fitness classes - free with your youth week activity pass.  Space is limited, participants must register in advance of the class (registration opens one week prior to the class start date).

A Step Above Cultural Gallery

Visit our Youth Art Display showcasing our amazing and diverse talent from youth in our community. 
Artwork will be on display for the entire month of May.

Teen Writing Contest

Langley City Library and Langley City Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department invite youth from grades 6-12  to participate in this writing contest. You can write your own original fiction or fanfiction!  To enter pick up a blank short story or graphic novel booklet at the library, write/draw your story, and drop off your entry at the City of Langley library before May 31, 2024.

First prize will receive a $100 gift card, 2nd place a $50 gift card and 3rd place $25 gift card.  Entries will be judged on creativity and effort!
