Weight Room & Fitness Schedule

In accordance with the new Public Health Order in effect December 23, 2021 Timms Community Centre Weight Room and Fitness Classes will be suspended until January 18, 2022.

Admission Fees

Admission includes access to the Weight Room or Fitness Classes only. 
All sessions must be booked at least 2 hours in advance; no drop-ins are permitted at this time.
2 days notice is required for a refund or activity transfer.

Fitness Track

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required starting October 24, 2021

Please note:

- Admission is for the Fitness Track and Games Room only.  Patrons must pay separately to attend other classes/programs.

- There is no time limitation on your usage. 

- All patrons will be required to have a valid Games & Track Pass and scan their card prior to using the Fitness Track

- Please follow the directional arrows on the Fitness Track.

- Please use the proper lane (runners must use the outside lane).

REFUND POLICY

Monthly, Annual and Aquatic Season Passes

Annual Passes may be paid monthly.
Annual Passes may be temporarily suspended for up to 2 months.

10 & 20 Passes

Booking Information

Location:  Timms Community Centre Gymnasium- 20399 Douglas Recreation Centre.

Registration:  Must pre-register for classes at least 15 minutes in advance.  No Drop-ins!  Registration opens one week in advance for all classes and weight room times.

Sanitization:  Participants are required to sanitize their hands upon entry and sanitize all equipment used at the end of the class.

Meeting/Check-in:  Please proceed directly to your program to check-in with the instructor.  Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class start to check-in and get your equipment. 

Class Cancellations:  Cancellations will be posted with a minimum of 2 hours notice.  Please check our website for updates.  

 
Refunds:  Participants may withdraw from a program at any time.  2 days notice will be required for a refund or activity transfer.
 
Equipment:  All equipment will be provided for classes.  Participants are required to disinfect their equipment before and after use (disinfectant provided.) 
 
 
 
HOW TO REGISTER:

Online: 

1. Visit the City of Langley RECCONNECT page to create an account or log in to your existing account
2. Search for activities- see the schedule for class dates and times.
3. Select your classes - you may register for as many classes as you wish.  Payment must be made at the time of registration.
4. Select the payment method  - annual passes, credit card and credit on account payments are available for online registrations.

By Phone:

1.  Contact Timms Community Centre  604-514-2940  or  Douglas Recreation Centre  604-514-2865 to register over the phone.
2.  A customer service representative will activate your account if you do not have one already set up.
3.  Please have the course numbers for all of the programs you wish to register for ready.
4.  Payment must be made at the time of registration.  Accepted forms of payment include credit card, credit on account, valid membership  
      (Annual, 3 months, monthly, 10 pass, 20 pass).

In-Person

2.  A customer service representative will activate your account if you do not have one already set up.
3.  Please have the course numbers for all of the programs you wish to register for ready.
4. Payment must be made at the time of registration.  Accepted forms of payment include cash, debit, and cheque, valid passes.

Refunds:  2 days  (before class start) is required for a refund or activity transfer.  In case of cancellation, a  refund or credit will be issued to your account.  Account credits may be used for future registrations. 

 

REGISTERED YOGA CLASSES

CHAIR YOGA (14+yrs)

This gentle form of yoga is practiced sitting on a chair or standing and using the chair for support.  Chair yoga is a great form of exercise for everyone as it deepens flexibility and strengthens body awareness no matter what your age or ability level.  This is an all-level class appropriate for those who have never taken a yoga class before as well as experienced practitioners.  Every pose can be modified to work for you.

GENTLE YOGA (14+yrs)

Gentle Yoga follows the principles of Hatha Yoga focusing on a healthy mind-body connection while going through the positions at a slower pace with gentle movements and mindfulness.  This class is appropriate for all levels- beginners welcome!  Classes will consist of breathing techniques, strengthening standing poses, floor work, stretching and relaxation.  Participants are encouraged to wear layers and bring a light blanket for the relaxation portion of the class.

PRENATAL YOGA (16+yrs)

Strengthen, stretch and breathe your way to a more comfortable pregnancy.  Improve posture, balance and flexibility as your instructor leads you through a series of pregnancy safe yoga poses.  Prepare for labour by building stamina and learning to use your breath.  The benefit from relaxation exercises will help you now and as a new mother while you connect with other moms-to-be in your community.

REGISTERED FIT FOR LIFE

FIT FOR LIFE (18+yrs)

Fit for Life is designed for those with Osteoporosis or bone density deficiencies who are actively mobile and regular exercisers.  Following a low-impact warm up, participants will be led through a variety of strength and balance exercises using light weighs, fit-balls and body weight exercises.  This class does involve mat work- participants must be comfortable getting to and from the floor.  Flexibility and relaxation techniques are also part of the fun!

Booking Information

WEIGHT ROOM RESTRICTIONS:

  • Must be 16+yrs to use the Weight Room unsupervised
  • Youth 13-15yrs may use the WR with an adult supervisor (18+yrs); supervisor must stay within arms' reach of the youth and be actively participating in the workout session.
    • Youth 13-15yrs may use the Weight Room unsupervised if they have successfully completed the Teen Pump program OR
    • Youth 13- 15yrs may use the Weight Room during Youth Hours:

YOUTH HOURS

Monday - Friday        3:00pm - 5:00pm
Saturday & Sunday   1:00pm - 3:00pm

 

REFUNDS:

  • There are no refunds for drop-in weight room visits.

PERSONAL TRAINING/ GROUP WEIGHT TRAINING

PERSONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS:  

Work with a certified BCRPA personal trainer to create a tailored fitness program to meet your specific needs and goals.  Personal Training sessions are one hour each and will include a fitness assessment, detailed program design, motivational workouts and support from your trainer.  Need extra motivation and support?  Book tandem training sessions and train with a friend or spouse!  Training sessions will be scheduled according to your availability so there's no excuse.... book your trainer today!
Please Note:  Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination must be shown prior to admission to the facility for training.

PERSONAL TRAINING- 1 PERSON

  • 3 SESSIONS -    $165 + GST
  • 5 SESSIONS -    $275 + GST
  • 10 SESSIONS -  $550 + GST

PERSONAL TRAINING- 2 PEOPLE (pairs must be at a similar fitness level to share training sessions)

  • 3 SESSIONS -   $247.50 + GST
  • 5 SESSIONS -   $412.50 + GST
  • 10 SESSIONS - $825.00+ GST

HOW TO BOOK PERSONAL TRAINING:

1. Complete the Personal Training Package
2.  Submit your completed Personal Training Package to Reception at Timms Community Centre along with your payment.
3.  A Personal Trainer will contact you by phone to review your information and book your first appointment.
4.  Appointment times will be determined based on your availability and your selected trainers' schedule.

Please Note:  Personal Training packages are non-refundable.  There is no expiry date on your paid sessions.  All sessions are one hour long and maybe booked daily, weekly or monthly depending on individual needs.

 

 

GROUP WEIGHT TRAINING PROGRAMS:

New to weight training and not sure how to get started?  Join these introductory weight training programs to learn how to safely use the equipment and what exercises you should be doing and which ones to avoid in order to achieve your goals. Taught by a BCRPA certified personal trainer, classes are kept small to ensure individual attention is available while you enjoy the motivation and energy that comes with group classes.  Each participant will receive a personalized training plan specific to their individual needs.

Teen Pump (13- 16yrs)
Weight Training for youth.  After successful completion of this course, youth will be eligible to use the Timms Community Centre Weight Room without adult supervision.
